Olexander A. Suhonyako born in 1953 in Chernihov oblast (Novhorod-Siversky region). Graduated from Vinnitsa Polytechnic institute. Radio-engineer. Working experience: a worker, master, workshop head, Zhytomir district communication center, politic-economy lecturer for Zhytomir branch of Kyiv Polytechnic institute.

Married. Has a daughter and a son.

Within May – October 1986 took part in liquidation of Chernobyl APS catastrophe.

From November 1990 – member of the Board for Social-Democratic Party of Ukraine (SDPU).991-1992 – the first SDPU Head.

From 1990 – People’s deputy of Ukraine, XII convocation (Committee on economic reforms and national economy). Was engaged in forming national monetary system of Ukraine. Organized a number of international and national conferences, published books on introduction and stabilizing national currency and banking system development.

Late April 1993 – President to the Association of Ukrainian bank (AUB). Was engaged in banking system development issues. Is awarded as “Honored economist of Ukraine”. Author of the books “Banks: growth through post-socialism”, “Ukraine: return to itself”, numerous publications regarding finance, economy and politics.
