AUB initiated system banking meeting attended by the officials of the NBU, the AUB and chairmen of commercial banks. They took up the issues of money-and-credit policy, tasks of the banks for the year 2001 and organization of work meant to put the banks' activities in correspondence to the Ukrainian law "About banks and banking activity". Victor Yuschenko, the Prime Minister of Ukraine, also gave a report at the meeting.

Council at Deputy Head of the NBU Mr.Krotyuk's office, where participants discussed approaches to organization of the NBU supervision of the execution of Ukrainian law "About banks and banking activity". Based on results of the meeting, the participants agreed on spreading the demands of the article 31 of the law on operating banks about amount of regulatory capital. The corresponding amendments were moved to the Resolution of the NBU Board N102 dated 07.03.2001.

Jointly with the NBU and the Business newspaper the round table was held for discussion of separate dispositions of the law "About banks and banking activity". The round table was attended by Mr. Yushko, the Deputy Head of Verkhovna Rada Committee on finance and banking activity, and representatives of commercial banks. They discussed the mechanism of statutory fund correction and limitations on performing banking operations at lower then cost price value.
